Tools development<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The analysis of large sets of hydrological (temperature and salinity), physical (e.g. wave parameters), biogeochemical (e.g. oxygen, water color, nutrients) and other data requires well-structured databases for fast and efficient use. We develop our own database to meet our R&D needs as well as our toolboxes dedicated to data visualization, data qualification, statistical processing \u2026 Our development  methods promote accessibility, interoperability and portability of our tools.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

QA\/QC<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Biased or even erroneous results can derive from bad quality data. As the amount of available data is constantly increasing and as there is a strong requirement for near real time data delivery, it is mandatory to use automatic and  semi-automatic quality control procedures to avoid the distribution and the incorrect use of bad quality data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We develop and validate our own automated quality control procedures. We qualify in nearly real-time alerts raised by our procedure as well in order to provide the best information to scientific communities or stakeholders. Our qualification  methods manage the traceability of changes made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data analysis<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Data sets integrated in base and qualified by us, are then inventoried, located and post-processed (e.g. estimate of secondary-parameter, projection on vertical and\/or horizontal grid). Thanks to our statistical analysis tools, data are then used to develop new adjustment methods (i.e. real time data set correction) as well as to calculate oceanic indicators. This work is part of the assessment of the ocean state and sometimes contributes to reference reports such as the Ocean State Report (OSR<\/a>) published by Copernicus Marine Service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
